BOY & GIRL SCOUTS
Contributions
As you begin your walk, you'll come across a long footbridge over a beautiful stream. The bridge build was undertaken by the Darien Boy Scouts several years ago for their Eagle Scout project. Their commitment to environmental stewardship and preservation of habitat have greatly enhanced Woodland Park. Surrounding the bridge and brook are various plants such as New York Fern, Hayscented Fern, and False Hellebore, along with diverse trees like Tulip, Dogwood, Shagbark Hickory, and Beech Trees. Recently, the Scouts completed a project that will prevent the stream from overflowing; they dug a trench, cut pieces from a fallen tree, and rolled it downhill into the trench. The Scouts then placed river stones to create a barrier to prevent the stream from overflowing. Darien Eagle Scouts have also contributed by building seated benches throughout the park. If you are a Boy or Girl Scout looking to help out with Woodland Park, please contact us at: woodlandnaturepreserve@gmail.com.

BRIDGE TIMELAPSE
The Darien Boy Scouts came together to reconstruct the footbridge located near the entrance of the park. The construction of the bridge was spearheaded by Owen Conventry for his Eagle Scout project.
